Gibdog Pet Supplies Celebrates 1 Year Anniversary

It's the first year anniversary for www.GibdogPetSupplies.com, source of all-natural dog treats and chews, and is marked by the opening of a new blog.

Novi, MI (PRWEB) June 29, 2008 -- Gibdog Pet Supplies is celebrating its first anniversary online, reflecting on a year of selling high-quality, all-natural pet treats and dog chews. As their product line continues to grow, they look back on the past year and forward to the next, working on their new informational blog and improving the customer experience.

"We have 2 dogs, and my fiancée and I are avid dog lovers," says Scott Gibson, owner and operator of http://www.gibdogpetsupplies.com/, looking back on how he got started. "We were buying cow ears off eBay for quite some time, and the supplier we used to get them from suddenly disappeared. I thought that this would be a nice little business venture and decided to start buying them at bulk quantities and selling them to people, because they were really expensive in pet stores. We'd have a bulk supply for our dogs, and give people a lower price on their purchase."

The site began with cow ears, but soon branched out into other products, always keeping to a 100% natural product line. "I let the market dictate what products I selected," explains Scott, who spent a lot of time designing the site and carefully selecting products. "I did a lot of research as far as all-natural dog treats, and we pretty much chose the hot sellers and decided we would carry those items for people and their dogs."

Scott has also begun a blog at http://www.gibdogpetsuppliesblog.com/ to help inform his customers about products and dog lifestyle articles, interweaving product updates and tips on dog training and care. "We're going to use the blog mostly for education, just to educate people about dog training, dog behavior, all-natural dog treats, and pretty much anything to do with dogs," he says. "We want to make sure that we educate people in all of those different categories. We're hoping that people will find some nice information."

The site never stops growing, with new items appearing based on their popularity in the marketplace. "The newest addition we have is a 7-9 inch knotted bully bone, which we added just after the 6-8 inch spiral bully stick and the 5 inch round braided crown bully stick," says Scott. "The hot sellers are pretty much all of our bully stick product line -- it's kind of the bread and butter of our store. We get orders for them every day, and it's the number one item on the market because of the chew time it takes for a dog to eat a stick. It keeps them occupied, plus it's healthy for them."

In the future, Scott is considering opening a brick and mortar store for his local community, but plans to continue the growing online superstore. He encourages customers to take part in his new blog and to browse the new additions to his catalog.

New Online Store for TK Dog Toys

Pet product supplier TK Dog Toys announces the grand opening of www.TKDogToys.com, their online web superstore.

Seabrook, TX (PRWEB) June 29, 2008 -- TK Dog Toys has opened their new online shopping site, http://www.tkdogtoys.com/, providing quality dog products for discerning pet owners.

"I've got golden retrievers and I've always had dogs in the past, so I thought the business would be something I could really get into," says Ken Hogrefe, a sailing instructor who started TK Dog Toys as his second business. "I found a wholesaler in Texas that I could drop in on to look at the products, and I was able to interview the people selling them. I hand-selected the items, looking through their product line and talking to the people I'd be dealing with directly."

The site is fairly new, but Ken adds to the product catalogue regularly. "I just put on some neat stuffing-less dog toys, which are good because most dogs have a tendency to pull the stuffing out," he says. "That's what they're after, so these are made stuffing-less, and there are about six different types -- skunks, raccoons, and the like. I like happy dogs, but more than that, I like healthy dogs; a friend of mine has a miniature dachshund, and he just spent $2000 because the dog ate so much stuffing and needed medical care. I'd like to avoid that with my toys."

Ken has also opened a blog at http://www.houndscorner.com/, where he hopes to share his love of dogs with other pet enthusiasts and foster awareness in the dog-owning community. "I want to keep people aware of dog organizations and their activities, as well as giving hints on training, grooming, and care," he explains. "We're active in the Golden Beginnings program, which fosters out abandoned golden retriever dogs. I help them and other organizations to place dogs, and my wife is also very active in the program. We're hoping the blog will be a tool to help them and organizations like them."

He jokes about his own experiences with Golden Beginnings, saying, "We started volunteering to be foster parents for dogs before they were placed, but we failed because we wanted to adopt all of them. It's too hard to let them go, so we adopted our first and became active in the program instead." Ken likewise intends to donate $1 from every sale to a dog shelter, in order to give back to the community.

Ken encourages shoppers to visit his new store at http://www.tkdogtoys.com/, and hopes customers will join in the conversation at http://www.houndscorner.com/ and share in his love of dogs.

New Blog for Pet Auto Safety

www.PetAutoSafety.com has opened a new informational blog for pet owners, allowing them to learn more about automotive safety for pets and the products that make their pets' security easy to maintain.

Overland Park, KS (PRWEB) June 29, 2008 -- Animal auto safety store www.PetAutoSafety.com has launched a new informational blog which details pet safety issues in the car, allowing customers to take a closer look at the items that keep both them and their pets more secure in a vehicle. The blog, located at www.PetAutoSafetyBlog.com, is a big step toward disseminating important pet safety information, as well as a venue for readers to share opinions on this and other pet-related topics.

"I want a community of pet owners to participate in not only pet auto safety, but other pet issues," says Dawn Ross, owner and operator of Pet Auto Safety and a lifelong pet lover. "I also want pet owners to share their pets and pet training tips, and I want to set up a donation page where my clients can donate directly to their favorite pet foundations. I think it is important for the other bloggers to know that they can discuss multiple pet issues, not just pet auto safety. I do want to get the word out about pet auto safety, but I welcome all conversations on the topic of pets."

Dawn had originally entered the online retail business with a web site for her artwork, located at www.NatureByDawn.com, but soon saw further online opportunities. "After I realized how much fun it was to run a web site, I expanded my business to incorporate other things I love -- like dogs," she says. "A few years ago I heard about seat belts for dogs, and thought it was a great idea. I began using seat belts for my dog, and it was a great experience. I decided I was going to get the word out with a new site, and I searched for other manufacturers and found products that proved to be reliable."

Having expanded from pet safety belts, Pet Auto Safety also includes pet travel seats, safety carriers, auto travel barriers, and a number of other related auto safety products. Recent additions to the site include the a Pet Net barrier, Extend-A-Seat, and RoamEO pet tracking GPS units. "I am currently looking at a product that measures the heat in the car for cases in which someone has to leave their dog in the car, and I am looking at a more advanced pet seat," says Dawn. "I am often contacted by people who have developed new pet safety products, asking me to try them and possibly sell them from my web site."

In the future, Dawn plans on creating an additional web site for further pet products, as well as doing more with charities such as the Humane Society. She intends to continue promoting pet auto safety through her blog and store, and encourages readers to take part in discussions on the subject.

New Blog for Odors from Pets Begone

www.OdorsFromPetsBegone.com has begun a new informational blog for customers, bringing valuable information to improve their quality of life.

Noblesville, IN (PRWEB) June 29, 2008 -- Odors from Pets Begone is the online source for the phenomenal Doodoo Voodoo line of pet and human stain and odor removers, and they have long been committed to providing their customers with both quality information and quality products. Store owner and operator Jim Walters has taken the next step in providing services for his customers by opening http://www.odorsbegoneblog.com/, an informational blog about the uses of his amazing product.

"Pet owners and people with pet odor problems are a very large audience," explains Jim, an entrepreneur who hasn't allowed retirement to slow him down. He was introduced to Doodoo Voodoo by its creator, a close friend who cares for sick animals and devised a scientifically sound method for dealing with substantial pet odors and stains. "It's for that audience that I offer this product. I keep going back to the phrase 'quality of life'; you hear it in hospitals, nursing homes, new homes -- builders use the phrase. They're addressing quality of life for people. When I think of needs that people have concerning smells that are around them, bad odors must diminish their quality of life. I see my product as not only addressing the need for taking care of the odor, but directly affecting the quality of life for the customers who purchase it."

The blog itself will function as a point of information for customers, as well as a place to ask questions or make comments on the product. "I want to have a medium available to me to talk to my potential customer base; to talk about the subject of quality of life," explains Jim. "I want to present articles that address these various needs. Some will promote ideas for use of the product, and others will deal with how they will be able to improve their quality of life through the use of the product. To me, the blog is an excellent medium to convey information through the written word."

Jim emphasizes that pet odors are not the endpoint for the product's use, but merely the beginning. "My initial presentation to the marketplace dealt with odors caused by pets, be it urine, feces, vomit, or other things that would cause carpets to become impregnated with pet odors," says Jim. "The use of the product goes far beyond that; it's ideal for nursing homes, which have a particular odor that needs to be addressed. When people go into hotel rooms, one of the things that goes to work in particular is the nose, which lets you know how fresh the smell of the area is. My product works -- be it in hotels, motels, nursing homes, assisted living homes, or other markets -- by combating those odors. There are many other applications, and we'll be dealing with a lot of those potential uses in my blog."

Jim encourages readers to visit his blog to learn more about Doodoo Voodoo and its applications.

Do You Know What Happens on Your PC When You are Not at Home?

PC Pandora warns parents to make sure they monitor their home computers while kids roam free on family machines all day long during summer months.

New York, NY (PRWEB) June 26, 2008 -- Security of the home computer continues to be a hot and important issue for families. But one aspect of security that is frequently and easily overlooked is the ability to track harmful changes and recover lost data.

"Another item on the 'safe PC' list is the ability to know everything that happens on your machine," explains Manuel Coats, Co-founder of Pandora Corp., makers of PC Pandora monitoring software. "There is lot that can happen to your PC, on purpose or by accident, that can have an affect on its performance - and on your safety. If the wrong files get deleted, you can have a seriously corrupted system. Even worse, if the wrong setting is changed or the wrong files deleted, you could find yourself locked out of your own bank account or even have your private passwords and personal information opened up to anyone that cares to look."

The summer months are here and that means kids will be spending more time on the family computers. It also means that the chances of something happening to those machines increases.

"Young users are more prone to accidental deletions," says Chief Software Evangelist Chris Graham. "If you have a record of everything that happened, you can isolate the problem and have a better shot at fixing it."

There is also the case of illegal activity being performed on a family PC. Whether it's downloading pirated music and movies, or even inappropriate and illegal photos of underage peers, the computer's owner is the one who will answer to authorities.

"In some cases, kids may be trying to cover their tracks," says Coats. "Either way, that's just one more reason to be monitoring your computer's activity with software like our PC Pandora."

PC Pandora is monitoring software that records all user activity. By taking sequential snapshots of all activity on screen, PC Pandora effectively acts as a DVR for your PC. The snapshots will allow you to see everything that happened on your computer, telling you who did what and when. Further details of user activity, such as websites visited, emails sent and received, instant messenger chats, keystrokes logged, peer-2-peer files traded, programs accessed and more, can be seen in text-based files.

"PC Pandora will effectively give parents a full visual and documented recording of everything that happens," says Coats. "They'll be able to fix problems quickly, and hold their children accountable for their online activity."

And what do you do once you've isolated the problem or issue?

"Then, you can recover and restore the files with our Pandora Recovery program," explains Graham, "which is available as a free download or as a mobile USB Flash Drive model. It's a great tool to help you get back anything that has been lost or deleted - whether it be by accident or on purpose."

Coats adds, "In other words, Pandora Recovery will help you retrieve, or uncover, those tracks your children tried so hard to cover."

Security to your home PC is essential in today's networked and connected world. Having the ability to know everything that happens on your machine can play a vital role in fixing system errors and putting a stop to illegal activity. Monitoring software like PC Pandora 5.0 and data recovery programs like Pandora Recovery are imperative security measures.

A 2-hour trial of PC Pandora is available at the company's website. As a special promotion for National Internet Safety Month, Pandora Corp. is offering the software at a discounted price; parents can use the code 'safe08' at checkout to get $10 off the Standard or Pro editions of the program.

Pandora Recovery is available for FREE at the Pandora Recovery website. Recovery Mobile can be purchased alone or within the Pandora PowerPack, which includes 4 licenses for PC Pandora - a great value for families and small businesses.

Effectively Eliminate Mosquitoes in Your Yard with New "Skeeter Defeater™" Mosquito Defense Unit

Outdoor Solutions, Inc. has announced availability of its Skeeter Defeater™ Mosquito Defense Unit, a revolutionary that effectively eliminates mosquitoes in your yard. Covering areas of up to 300-square feet, the Skeeter Defeater Dispenser is portable, making it ideal for use in multiple environments. Skeeter Defeater products employ a patent-pending technology that automatically sprays pyrethrin, a botanical insecticide, at dusk and dawn every day when mosquitoes are most active.

Irving, TX (PRWEB) June 26, 2008 -- Outdoor Solutions, Inc has announced availability of its Skeeter Defeater™ Mosquito Defense Unit, a revolutionary mosquito killer that effectively helps eliminate mosquitoes in your yard.

Unlike repellents, this insecticide kills mosquitoes on contact. At a retail price of $69.95 for the Dispenser and $12.95 for the Cylinder Refill Unit (CRU), the Skeeter Defeater products are priced up to $100's less than competing mosquito elimination solutions.

"We designed the Skeeter Defeater™ line to be the most consumer-friendly, automatic mosquito elimination product on the market," said Marketing Director Brett Duncan. "What really sets it apart is its DUSK/DAWN® sensor, allowing you to simply set it up, turn it on and let it go to work, killing mosquitoes on contact."

"Another great advantage of the Skeeter Defeater™ Dispenser is that it's portable, meaning it can be taken from the backyard to the campsite and installed in seconds," Duncan added. "Other mosquito products and misting options, often costing thousands of dollars, can't make that claim."

Setting up and maintaining Skeeter Defeater products is a no-hassle process. For a much better price than many solutions, Skeeter Defeater products will automatically help reduce the mosquito population in any outdoor environment. The self-contained aspects of the unit allow users to take the Skeeter Defeater Dispenser with them, wherever they go. Replacing cylinders and batteries takes less than a minute and requires little technical expertise.

The Skeeter Defeater Mosquito Defense Unit is available now online at http://www.skeeterdefeater.com/ and at selected retailers including participating PetSmart stores and Ace Hardware, True Value, Orgill and Handy Hardware dealers. Check the website for an up-to-date list of dealers.

For more information about Skeeter Defeater™ products, contact Outdoor Solutions, Inc., 2500 Carl Road, Irving, TX 75062 or call 888-895-BUZZ (888-895-2899). Or visit the company's website at: http://www.skeeterdefeater.com/.

"Evil Cell Phone" Video Gains Cult Status, Illustrates America's Backlash Against Cell Phone Industry

No-Evil.net's "Microwave vs. Cell Phone" video attracts over 4 million viewers angry about cell phone bills.

Miami, FL - Popcorn-popping cell phones aren't the only viral cell phone videos sweeping the Internet. A new viral cell phone video - "Microwave vs. Cell Phone" - illustrating the "evil" nature of cell phones is mesmerizing the Internet and unleashing consumer rage against their cell phone carriers like never before. In the widely seen 56-second video, created by http://www.no-evil.net/, a cell phone placed into a microwave unexpectedly unleashes a terrifying monster a la "Alien." Audiences are clearly sympathetic: The clip was the most-viewed video on MySpace for the week of June 2, 2008.

Since the "Microwave vs. Cell Phone" video was posted on May 31, 2008, more than four million people have viewed it on YouTube, MySpace and Break, among other sites. The video's surprise ending - clearly a metaphor for the intense ambivalence people feel toward their cell companies - has evoked so much emotion that a staggering 14,000 viewers to date have posted heated comments about it.

The video is the work of Net10, the fastest growing new cell phone company in the US. Net10, whose brand slogan is "No Bills, No Contracts, No Evil," is hardly surprised by the cult status the video has achieved -- or by the strong negative emotions people continue to harbor toward its competitors.

"There are so many ways that post-paid cell phone providers carry out negative practices," said Derek Hewitt, Sr. V.P., marketing for Tracfone Wireless. "Hidden charges, over billing, long-term contracts and exorbitant fees for early cancellation are a few of the ways post-paid cell phone providers take advantage of their customers."

Judging by the response generated from the "Microwave vs. Cell Phone" video, American consumers agree.

The Net10-created Web site http://www.no-evil.net/ is a compendium of sins perpetuated by large cell phone providers against their customers. Visitors to the Web site can find, among other things, a detailed list of the many ways that these companies are ripping off their customers. There is even a place on the Web site for victims of cell phone service abuse to air their horror stories. And for those who just can't wait for their cell phone contract to end, the Web site will even find someone to buy out your contract for you.

By contrast, NET10 is founded on honesty and simplicity. The nationwide service provides calls at 10 cents per minute, 15 cents for overseas calls to over 60 destinations, and 5 cents for text messages. There are no bills, contracts, overages, hidden daily or monthly fees or any of the surprise other charges that enrage customers of traditional cell phone companies. Net10 is available in over 50,000 stores nationwide, including Walmart, Target, Circuit City, Kmart and Family Dollar.

To watch or download the "Microwave vs. Cell Phone" video that's creating a viral stir among millions of viewers and inciting a backlash against "evil" cell phone practices, visit http://www.no-evil.net/. Click on the "Share" button to download this video in various formats.

About NET10
Net10 is a brand of TracFone Wireless Inc., the largest prepaid mobile phone service provider in the U.S., for the 12 years since it was founded. TracFone is a subsidiary of America Movil (NYSE:AMX), the fourth largest mobile phone company in the world, and the largest in all of the Americas with more than 153 million mobile phone subscribers - more than AT&T, Verizon or Sprint. New Automated Online Advertising Technology Generates Hefty Profits and Happy Users

CPALead, LLC (http://www.cpalead.com/) is leading the cost-per-action (CPA) advertising industry's expansion beyond traditional boundaries with the release of new automation tools. The proprietary tools simplify the CPA advertising model for website publishers, social application developers, virtual worlds, massively multiplayer online role-playing games (MMORPG) and tournament gaming websites looking to more efficiently monetize users through incentive-based advertising.

Madison, WI (PRWEB) June 24, 2008 -- A growing population of Web publishers and online communities are demanding more efficient ways to diversify and monetize Web properties. Website publishers are looking beyond traditional advertising models like AdWords and banner ads for improved ways to generate revenue. Incentive-based CPA advertising has emerged as a proven, albeit time-consuming, alternative to monetize audiences. CPALead has unveiled new tools to automate the operational processes, revolutionizing this highly profitable advertising segment by providing Websites with effortless access to high-converting offers.

"CPALead has created a virtual rewards system that stimulates user activity and website profitability," says Kevin Golob, V.P. of Business Development of CPALead. "Previously, it was labor-intensive to manage CPA ad offers like short surveys or email sign-ups. The manual labor of adding and removing offers, updating user accounts, and handling customer service issues typically offset the profitability of running the incentivized offers. Our new tools automate every process needed to run incentivized advertising successfully on any type of website, online game, or social application."

Allowing publishers and community owners to pay visitors, players, or members in virtual currencies goes beyond simply increasing site revenue. Earning virtual credits instead of purchasing them allows larger audiences to gain access to premium site content and participation points. This enables the website to attract and retain a larger audience, and more importantly monetize cash-poor visitors or members without compromising site revenue, aesthetics, or the in-game economy.

CPALead has released two new tools to help automate the CPA advertising model:

Active Survey Display Tool - This is a customizable and scalable widget that displays all available advertising offers running on the CPALead network. The offers update in real time. Publishers have the ability to remove offers manually and customize descriptions to maximize conversions within their unique target audience. An integrated help ticket system enables users to directly contact CPALead with questions, so publishers are never bothered with emails about non-converting offers. The tool automatically geo-targets users and provides helpful tips for maximizing conversions.

Survey Post Back Tool - This tool is the communication link between the CPALead network and the Website. It ensures that a user does not complete the same offer twice by automatically removing it upon completion. The tool alerts the user the moment an offer has converted via a ping. The dynamics of the tool allow the user to participate in more offers while investing less time by leaving the offer immediately upon conversion. Users do not have to check their payout balances repeatedly waiting for conversions to be applied. All payout totals are displayed in real time directly on the tool.

By joining the CPALead advertising network website owners receive free access to the automation tools and high-converting offers.

About CPALead, LLC

Old Basford, Nottingham (PRWEB) June 23, 2008 -- Proactol.com has recently received a rise in calls from women who are wanting to lose weight after they have stopped breastfeeding. As responsive as ever, Proactol.com has launched a campaign 'Love Your Body After Pregnancy' to help women achieve the healthy weight loss results you want after childbirth. Engineering and Technology Businesses Choose New PDF Security Service

Many manufacturers and distributors of complex equipment or products need to provide technical manuals, training materials and a range of other information to their salesforce, field engineering teams, contractors and customers. These are often highly sensitive documents and it is important they do not fall into the wrong hands. The Drumlin PDF security software and digital rights management (DRM) service has recently been selected by a number of major engineering firms specifically to deal with this issue in an extremely cost-effective manner.

UK (PRWEB) June 23, 2008 -- Distributing documents in a completely secure manner has long been a major headache for many engineering and technology companies. Drumlin Security (http://www.drumlinsecurity.co.uk/) have recently tailored their high-security PDF reader/publisher and DRM service specifically to meet the demanding requirements of this sector. A recent example is given by a company providing support for large earth-moving equipment: "I discovered that the built in security and the cost of the drm offerings from the major players both left a lot to be desired ... I investigated Drumlin Security's PDF reader and explained my requirements to them - specifically

1) need to batch convert 500 or more files
2) ability to convert large pdf files
3) need to convert password protected files
4) control of printing / copying and the need to prevent files being removed and remaining viable from laptops
5) ability to add to the secure library
6) ability to completely revoke rights on a machine to read any files.
7) be able to have granular control over which files would be accessible to each user / machine as required.

Pretty straightforward ? Well yes for the guys at Drumlin it was. After they had understood my needs they made some changes to their application to deal with some of the above and now I have a tool which not only does what I need but actually makes it a relatively painless process to boot……"

The Drumlin software and service ensures that PDF versions of documents such as books, market research reports, technical manuals, courseware, subscription newsletters, financial statements, contracts and similar materials can be distributed with complete safety. The fully secured version of PDFs created using the Drumlin software can be placed on a web site, CD or emailed to a user or customer without concern that they might be intercepted, read, decrypted or copied.

The "reader" features in the Drumlin PDF reader/publisher provide a full-functionality viewer for PDFs and secured PDFs. Its PDF handling is built upon the market-leading PDF software development library PDFNet SDK from PDFTron Systems Inc. (http://www.pdftron.com/) which supports all existing levels of PDF. Javascript and attached objects are disabled, ensuring that the Drumlin reader is not at risk from the widely reported problems of viruses associated with some other PDF readers.

The "publisher" facility in the Drumlin PDF reader/publisher strongly encrypts conventional PDF files with the option to ensure that they can only be read once they have been authorized. Even then, these files can only be opened on the individual PC on which they have been authorized - such files cannot be copied and read elsewhere. Drumlin's publisher facility enables many controls to be applied to such documents, such as enabling or disabling text copy facilities; setting start and end dates for viewing; and specifying the number of times a document may be viewed, and the number of times it may be printed (if at all).

57-Year-Old Marathoner, Mountain Climber Enters Guinness Book of World Records

Charlton, MA (PRWEB via PRWebDirect) June 17, 2008 -- Marathon runner and mountain climber Jeanne Stawiecki is now in the Guinness Book of World Records for two feats that she accomplished at age 56. The Guinness Book of World Records recognizes Stawiecki as the oldest woman to complete the “Seven Summits,” the highest mountains on each continent, and as achieving the fastest aggregate time for a woman to complete marathons on all seven continents.

In addition to the records, Stawiecki is also the first woman in the world to run marathons and climb the highest mountains on all seven continents (seven continents, seven marathons, seven summits).

On February 26, 2007, Stawiecki crossed the finish line of the frigid Antarctic Marathon to receive the record for running marathons on all seven continents in the shortest aggregate time for all females. But accomplishing this task was simply not enough for Stawiecki, a nurse anesthetist from Charlton, Massachusetts. Slightly more than 200 people, less than 50 of them women, have officially scaled the "Seven Summits.” On May 22, 2007, Stawiecki stood on the summit of Mt. Everest, earning the record for being the oldest woman in the world to have completed climbing these peaks. Stawiecki was driven by many personal reasons to become the first woman in the world and the first American, male or female, to achieve both of these extreme athletic challenges.

Stawiecki’s extraordinary achievement is made all the more amazing by the fact that, until about age 40, she was a stressed out, two-pack-a-day smoker working three jobs who couldn't even run to the end of her street. She had no interests, no hobbies and no passions. Life seemed predictable, until she discovered the amazing power of the way one thinks. She attributes her great success to the power of the mind.

“I want people to know I am an ordinary person doing something extraordinary,” Stawiecki says. “The way you think makes all the difference in the world. If you think and believe you are a success, you will be.”

At age 40, Stawiecki stopped smoking when – upon developing a chronic cough and persistent hoarseness – she realized the health risks of continuing the habit. The knowledge gleaned from her work in the medical field only strengthened her resolve to stay healthy. She also took up exercise to prevent weight gain, and ran her first marathon, the New Yew York City Marathon, in 1994.

After 16 years of running, including seven consecutive years running the Boston Marathon, Stawiecki wanted something more. Rock and ice climbing lead Stawiecki to mountain climbing, which she began at age 52.

After completing six of the “Seven Summits,” Stawiecki returned to Mt. Everest on March 29, 2007, to complete the one climb that eluded her. She took the South Col route with Alpine Ascents International and reached the mountain’s summit on May 22, solidifying her place in the record books.

When not participating in grueling outdoor events or training for the next one on her list, Stawiecki works as a certified nurse anesthetist in the operating room at UMass Memorial Hospital; the Memorial campus in Worcester, Mass. While her professional career also brings significant demands and challenges, Stawiecki was able to balance her passion for caring for others while she fulfilled a personal goal she shared with friends, family and co-workers.

Stawiecki is writing a book about the many difficulties and obstacles she has faced in her personal life and how she was able to overcome them and achieve all she has. By telling her story, she is hoping to inspire other women to take risks and embark on any challenge, despite its difficulties and obstacles.
